Two struggling writers, hear about a new musical theatre festival. However, the deadline for submissions is a mere three weeks away. With nothing to lose, the pair decides to try to create something new with the help of their friends and their pianist. With the cast in place, the two begin conversing about what to write about. Eventually, they write about what to write about. They make a pact to write up until the festival's deadline and dream about the show changing their lives.

A playground altercation between two eleven-year-old boys brings together two sets of Brooklyn parents for a meeting to resolve the matter. At first, diplomatic niceties are observed, but as the meeting progresses, and the drinks flow, tensions emerge and the gloves come off, leaving the couples with more than just their liberal principles in tatters and acting more like their children.
