Volunteering

We have numerous volunteer positions available for cast and crew. View available roles below.

If you want to be more involved in your community, work with some really creative, dedicated people or need community service hours, then look no further!

The Vero Beach Theatre Guild has volunteer opportunities for anyone of any age.  Volunteers will work with our Board of Directors' appointed Team Leaders to help make everyone's experience a positive and enjoyable one.

We provide a safe and friendly environment where all our volunteers have a sense of belonging to the Guild family while having FUN doing it! Many of our opportunities provide invaluable training and experience for high school and college students seeking to pursue a career in the performing arts. All volunteers are given 2 complimentary tickets to the show they are working on.

BOX OFFICE: We need volunteers to help out in our box office to answer phones, take reservations, and give out information and directions. Having some knowledge of local restaurants and hotels a plus. Pleasant phone skills and a helpful attitude a must! If you can give us just two hours a week, or even four; we could use your help.

FUNDRAISING:  Help with our Development Committee, write grants, make introductions to potential donors, or secure new Community Partnerships. If you have a knack for fundraising, then we have opportunities for you to make a tremendous impact.

GROUNDS:  Help with landscaping, trimming, leaf removal, and cleaning grounds.

PRODUCTION

COSTUME/PROP SHOP:  Help in our newly organized costume/prop shop with finding costumes and/or props from our shop or a local vendor/donor. We also need occasional alterations, stitching, and construction. Assist with washing costumes/props and returning to our Costume/Prop Shop upon show completion.

SET CONSTRUCTION:  If you can use a hammer and a drill, we can use you during set construction and strike after the show. Volunteer assignments depend upon skills sets. If you enjoy the creative process of building scenery but aren’t skilled in working with tools, come join the comradery of our crew and help in keeping the work areas clean and safe as they create and build.

SCENIC PAINTING:  Help us with the painting of sets or various parts of the building; simple rolling on, cutting in or fine detail. We can use anyone who wants to wield a brush with us.

LIGHTING:  Help by running a spotlight or light board for a production. (A stipend is available if you commit to all tech rehearsals, dress rehearsals and performances of a particular production.)

SOUND:  Help prepare wireless microphones and operate our sound board. (A stipend is available if you commit to all tech rehearsals, dress rehearsals and performances of a particular production.)

FRONT OF HOUSE

HOUSE MANAGERS and USHERS: Greet and open doors for patrons, make playbills available, and scan tickets. All House Managers and Ushers must have a pleasant personality and be able to greet audience members and make everyone feel welcome.

SALES: 50/50 TICKETS & CONCESSIONS: Got a knack for selling? We can use your help with selling 50/50 raffle tickets or concessions prior to performances or at intermission.
